By Hazrat Amir Khusroe.

I linger near

Your abode

Day in and

Day out

Lamenting sighing

Yearning for you.

O beloved

Be not unfaithful

To one brokenhearted…

Since long ages

Have i

Befriended you

So long did

It take to be

Acquainted with you

When my bones

Turn into

Splinters, still

Will my heart

Desire/yearn for you.

Not a moment

Of union…

Not a moment

Of such a night

For one pining

Sorrowfully

For the one

In love with you.

Send a glance

Of kindness on

My pitiful plight.

You are the

King of Virtue/goodness

And Khusroe a

Beggar at your door!
