Hazrat Hafiz Shirazi.

My heart is free

Of the world

My eyes turned

Towards this moon

‘Tis better than

The humdrum

Of the worldly!

By God

I am proud/I envy

The vision in

My two eyes

Their pleasure

Of gazing at this

Countenance constantly…

Know not I

Where my heart is…

Where is my foreigner/?

An age has passed…

From no where

Do I have any

News of him!

On my last breath

Am I,

Unsatiated by

Your audience

Still-

There is no yearning

Or desire we have

Except this!

O Zephyr/morning breeze

Do not distract me

With the tangled locks

Of this Fairy

As a thousand

Lives Hafiz sacrifices

On a single hair

Of his head!
